Sri Lanka national cricket team left the island today for a 3-one day series against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi. The matches are scheduled to be held on the 18th, 20th and 22nd of May.
The team will be without veterans Muttiah Muralitharan, Chaminda Vaas and Kumar Sangakkara. It will include new faces from the ‘A’ team : Malinda Warnapura and Ishara Amarasinghe. Also Ruchira Perera, Kaushal Lokuaracchi and Chamara Kapugedara will be recalled in addition to Mahela Jayawardene, Sanath Jayasuriya, Upul Tharanga, Dilhara Fernando, Tillekaratne Dilshan, Fervez Maharoof, Chamara Silva, Lasith Malinga and Malinga Bandara retained from the World Cup squad. Tillekaratne Dilshan will act as the substituting vice-captain in the absence of Sangakkara.
This will also be Tom Moody’s last tour with the team, before he leaves for Western Australia.
